Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy explains what data Numa accesses, where it's stored, and how you stay in control of it. We wrote it to be read by a person, not just a lawyer — if anything is unclear, write to us.
1. Who we are
Numa is an iPhone app that helps families organize routine, health, schedule, tasks, and memories from text or voice conversation. This policy applies to app use and covers every family that creates an account.
2. We don't run servers holding your data
Numa doesn't operate servers of its own to store your family's records. Sleep, feeding, diapers, health, schedule, tasks, memories, and photos are stored in your own Apple iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit.
In practice, this means your data never passes through us: it travels between your iPhone and Apple's infrastructure, under Apple's own privacy terms. If you delete the app or your Apple account, your records follow your iCloud's own rules.
3. Account and identification (Sign in with Apple)
You sign in to Numa with Sign in with Apple. We receive an identifier from your Apple account and, only the first time, optionally your name and email — stored in your device's Keychain, not on a server of ours.
We don't create our own password, don't maintain a centralized user database, and don't use this data for anything beyond identifying your profile inside the app.
4. Sharing with your family
When you invite someone into the family (partner, caregiver), Numa creates an iCloud share (CKShare) so that person can see and edit the same records. Only people you explicitly invite get access — never third parties, and never us.
You can remove someone from the family at any time; that ends their access to the shared data going forward.
5. AI and your conversations with Numa
Whenever possible, Numa processes your conversation directly on your iPhone, using Apple's own on-device intelligence (Apple Intelligence), without sending anything off the device.
When a request needs more capability — a more complex question, for instance — the message may be sent to Gemini, Google's model accessed through Firebase AI Logic, to generate a response. This only happens if you've given explicit consent in the app's privacy settings; without that consent, Numa uses on-device intelligence only.
On the paid tier we use, Google doesn't use your messages or the generated responses to improve or train Gemini's models; the data is handled under Google Cloud's data-protection terms. We send only what's needed to answer your request, never your family's full history beyond the conversation's context.
You can revoke this consent at any time in Settings → Privacy, returning to on-device-only mode.
6. Subscription and payments (Numa Pro)
Numa Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple's App Store. We use RevenueCat to confirm your subscription status (active, on free trial, cancelled) — RevenueCat receives the purchase receipt from Apple, not your card details, which stay entirely with Apple.
We don't have access to card numbers, bank details, or payment information.
7. Notifications
Numa sends reminders through local notifications, generated and scheduled right on your iPhone. We don't use remote push notifications or external messaging services for this.
8. What Numa never does
- We don't show ads inside the app.
- We don't sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We don't use your conversations or records to train third-party AI models.
- We don't access your family's data for our own purposes beyond operating the service and providing support you request.
9. Your rights
As a Brazilian resident, you have rights under the LGPD (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados); if you're elsewhere, similar rights may apply under your local law. At any time, you can request:
- Access to the data we hold about you (via Settings, or by email).
- Correction of incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated data.
- Deletion of your data, including the entire account.
- Portability of your data to another service, in a structured format.
10. Account deletion
You can delete your account directly in the app, under Settings → Privacy → Delete account. This erases local data on the device, removes the CloudKit zone tied to your family, and revokes your Sign in with Apple credentials.
11. Important health notice
Numa organizes health information you log (vaccines, appointments, medication, symptoms) to help you keep track of your family's routine. Numa doesn't provide medical advice, doesn't make diagnoses, and doesn't replace the judgment of a pediatrician or health professional. When in doubt, or in an emergency, always contact a doctor.
12. Who can use Numa
The family's primary account must be created by someone 18 or older, who is the legal guardian of any children whose data is logged in the app.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be communicated inside the app before they take effect.
14. Contact
Questions about privacy, or requests related to your data rights, can be sent to the contact email listed in this site's footer.
